What are you waiting for?

Matthew 9:35-38 New Living Translation (NLT)

The Need for Workers

35 Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. 38 So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”

July 16, 2017, Pastor Shawn preached, and God was showing me a vision during the sermon and at the altar after the sermon. It was a marker (something I will never forget) for me… I wrote it in my Bible. I prayed about it and ask God should I share it and I feel peace to do that.

God showed me a roller coaster. The world is like that roller coaster. No stability up and down. (That was during the sermon).

I went to the altar and prayed this prayer:

God, I will serve You anyway You want me to. I am not going to have to find a certain “ministry position”. I am tired of telling You what to do. I want Your will.

I saw in my spirit a field ripe with wheat. I was steady and firm not like the roller coaster and a sickle was placed in my hands. (A sickle is a sharp curved like a knife tool ….to gather the wheat).

What am I waiting for? People need Jesus now! Love them daily for Jesus. Ask God to help you share the gospel with them. There are people that you know that are hurting and you can reach them for Christ!

Look! The Harvest is ripe! Start gathering it. Pray that the Lord send forth laborers. Pray that God shows you what you can do. Do something! Pray, clothe, feed, teach a Bible study, listen, and share Jesus!

John 14:6 New King James Version (NKJV)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Prayer:

Precious Lord,

I want Your will and I know what that is:

2 Peter 3:9 New Living Translation (NLT)

The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed but wants everyone to repent.

The Harvest is ripe. Help me to see that. Help me to utilize my gifts and talents as tools to win people for Christ! Forgive me for trying to lead. Lord Jesus You have called me to follow You. I love You, Lord. I WILL OBEY!

In Jesus Name Amen

*We can give God all our failures and weaknesses too for His Glory:

The problem was that Josh felt he had no gifts or talents to give. All he had was a history of brokenness and failures. In a moment with the Lord, He said, “I only have weakness. But I will give all my failures to you to bring you Glory. Every breath I breathe will be to serve you Lord.” Josh McDowell

James 3:14 Living Bible (TLB)

14 And by all means don’t brag about being wise and good if you are bitter and jealous and selfish; that is the worst sort of lie.

Reading in Leviticus 13 about contagious skin disease, the person had to be quarantined for an amount of time so the skin disease didn’t spread.  They also had to be purified so they could rejoin the camp.

I thought of having a bitter heart is like a skin disease spiritually.  Your bitterness can impact and hurt others.

The first thing we must do is go to Jesus and ask Him is there bitterness in our hearts? Hint: what comes out of your mouth? How do you treat people? What do you think about people?  God sees the heart all is bare before Him.

The second thing we must do is get to the root of it. This is a quarantine time of prayer and maybe fasting and seeking God.

Third, we must ask Jesus to wash us clean and remove all bitterness so that Love and Joy are in its place.

We brag that we are wise when inside of us deeply is an ugly simmering pot of bitterness. It’s time to heal. It’s time to get alone with Jesus.

When I leave this earth and want to be known for two things: Theresa loved Jesus and she loved people.

People will hurt us and we hurt people, so that’s why forgiveness makes sense. Jesus forgave me and I did not deserve His Forgiveness.

When I think about all He went through so I could go to Heaven, my heart burst with love for Him. In my quiet times with Jesus, His love penetrates me and I love because I am so greatly loved.

Forgiveness is the key to unlocking bitterness!

Matthew 6:14-15 Amplified Bible (AMP)

14 For if you forgive [a]others their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins], your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others [nurturing your hurt and anger with the result that it interferes with your relationship with God], then your Father will not forgive your trespasses.

Prayer:

Precious Lord,

Search my heart and reveal to me any areas of bitterness or unforgiveness.  I am asking You to wash me and heal me Lord Jesus Christ.  I don’t want to spread bitterness like it’s a contagious disease. It’s time to be free! Thank You, Jesus, for Your Forgiveness in my life! There is nothing… I cannot forgive. You command me to forgive, forgiving changes my heart, and You Lord have forgiven me. I choose to spread Your Love, Joy, and Peace. Jesus, I love You! I surrender the need to be right in order to be Righteous. Have your way in my life.

Help! I’m Overweight!

DSCN2210.JPG

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 English Standard Version (ESV)

16 Do you not know that you[a] are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 English Standard Version (ESV)

19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Personally, this was a hard blog to write but I felt such an urge to share my struggle because I am not alone. Many people struggle with this area of weight and health.

Food is the drug of most church people. Gluttony!

How did this happen? Last year I was in shape but little by little with poor food choices, eating when I am stressed, and running to food instead of running to God… gradually took over.

There I was staring at a scale in the doctor’s office hardly believe my eyes when the scales says:  187 lbs. Why did I let myself go? My husband John said “honey I think we need to use My Fitness Pal again”- I fought that. Way too much control for me, but then my weight, my health is out of control.

This morning, I was praying and I thought real hard changes requires being honest before God and doing my part. I am part of my Fitness Pal again. This morning, I signed up.

The Scriptures that I used today talk about my body being God’s Temple.  So, I am asking for God’s help! I am also taking responsibility for my part. Beautiful comes in all shapes and sizes but taking care of our health is our responsibility before God. I want to be healthy to live in passion for His Kingdom and for my family and friends. I choose to make the changes with God’s help!

I deal with other health issues and being overweight makes them worse. Jesus is our Healer. We are still responsible for taking care of our temple (body). If a person keeps eating donuts what can be the result? We have got to understand what we do to our bodies when we don’t take care of them. An occasional treat is ok, not every day!

If you are struggling with the same issue, you are not alone! Look up to the Lord and loving family and friends. Ask your doctor. There is help. Ask God to help you to be determined to change!

Prayer:

Father God,

I see the truth and I am asking for You to forgive me and to help me. Help me to run to You as my source of comfort and not to food. Lord, I believe that You have called me to serve You and I want to serve You the best that I can. I take personal responsibility for the things that I can change and I trust the rest of it with You. Today is a new day. It’s a day of Hope! Father God, I love You and I want to bring You honor.

Major on the Minors

priceless

Exodus 34:6-8 English Standard Version (ESV)

The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands,[a] forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.” And Moses quickly bowed his head toward the earth and worshiped.

I was reading my Bible this morning and I got stumped on this verse:

Exodus 34:20 English Standard Version (ESV)

20 The firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb, or if you will not redeem it you shall break its neck. All the firstborn of your sons you shall redeem. And none shall appear before me empty-handed.

I thought why do they have to break a baby donkey’s neck? I searched commentaries and got no real answer. I thought about all the other animals who died as well.  I prayed aloud to God for understanding and declared that God is so Good even when I don’t understand! I asked God to help me and I thought of Jesus the Spotless Lamb of God who gave His all.

Sin is not to be taken lightly… redemption has a price and that price is Blood. Jesus paid in full the price of Redemption to all who truly believe and receive. This belief is more than words, if you truly received Him the evidence is a Holy Life because in Him you are a new creation!

2 Corinthians 5:17 New King James Version (NKJV)

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

You are instantly forgiven and clean that’s Sanctification part 1 and then  Sanctification part 2 that is worked out in your life by daily surrendering to the Lord and the washing of His Word. This process continues until we are with Christ in eternity! It’s not that you’re perfect –you are entering the process of becoming more like Christ.

We are God’s Priceless Diamonds that He has purchased with a Huge Price- the Blood of Jesus! He is polishing His Diamonds (Making us more like Jesus)!

Hebrews 9:22 King James Version (KJV)

22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

I can major on the minors about this chapter. The important points were:  the Ten Commandments being given to Moses again. Moses face shined from God’s Glory. God wanting His people to be Holy not like other nations and to seek Him-that’s a surrendered relationship in where He is God and you are not!

Hebrews 9:11-12 Christian Standard Bible (CSB)

New Covenant Ministry

11 But Christ has appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come.[a] In the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands (that is, not of this creation), 12 he entered the most holy place once for all time, not by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.

I got some revelation about this. We take our redemption way too lightly!

Grace is never an excuse to sin, Grace forgives our sins, and Grace gives us the power not to sin. Grace is free to us all.

Redemption from Christ for us cost Christ His Life! We must never forget that –never! Moses received the law and the firstborn were to be redeemed for God- you didn’t come empty handed to the Lord.

Jesus is the Lamb of God the One who washed me of all my sins I come to Father God clean and free because of Christ. That makes me want to live fully for Him. When I think about the price He paid for my freedom I want to live with passion and in total surrender to such a Great God, King, and Savior.

I decided not to major on the minors but to see God’s Theme of Love woven throughout the Bible His Love Letter to me and to His Church!

Prayer:

Father God,

I am amazed by You. Thank You for sending Jesus as the offering for the sins of the world. Father without Jesus’s sacrifice I would never be with You for all eternity. Father God thank You for the Holy Spirit that lives in me empowering me to live for Your Glory. Father God I love You. Help me to see Your Theme of Love woven like priceless tapestries in the Bible. Help me Father not to major on the minors but to seek You for truth and study Your Word when I don’t understand and even when no answers suffice- I will still trust You and proclaim that You are Good!

In Jesus Name Amen

Open up your eyes!

Luke 24:30-31 English Standard Version (ESV)

30 When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their sight.

This picture of the ship has a hidden image hidden right out in the open. John (my husband) and I bought this picture on a Saturday at a rummage sale. The woman had this picture for 30 years before she saw the image of Jesus and the Holy Spirit like a dove above Jesus’ head. She said it was a religious picture.

I don’t worship pictures or pray before them. I pray to the Living Almighty God not an image of Him but Him!  It gives me comfort to look at the picture. He is with us and stills the storms in our lives. He is always with His children even when we don’t “feel” Him. Faith is stronger than feelings.

I recently read a story about a lady from England who bought a ring from a place similar to a thrift store she wore it for years too and she found out that the ring was a real diamond ring worth half-million dollars!

Father God draws us to Jesus!

Lord Jesus open our Eyes!

Holy Spirit help us to stay close to Jesus!

On the road to Emmaus the two disciples didn’t recognize Jesus.

Luke 24:30-31 English Standard Version (ESV)

30 When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their sight.

Read Luke 4:13-27 for the whole story.

Matthew 11:25-26 English Standard Version (ESV)

Come to Me, and I Will Give You Rest

25 At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; 26 yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.[a]

Jesus is there but until you seek Him you can’t see Him or recognize Him because you must know Him!

Jeremiah 29:13 English Standard Version (ESV)

13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

I am here to tell you that Jesus is more precious than a painting, statue, or a ring-or all the money in the world. His worth is Priceless and everything I own cannot compare to knowing Him!

Revelation 19:16 New King James Version (NKJV)

16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS.

Pray that the Lord will open up your eyes like Elisha servant:

2 Kings 6:17 English Standard Version (ESV)

17 Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Prayer:

Precious Lord,

Forgive us for not seeing You clearly. Help us to recognize Your Presence in our lives. Help us to seek You with all our hearts. Help us to know that nothing compares to You. Lord Jesus, we so Love You and we know that You Love us. Lord Jesus gives us spiritual eyes reveal Yourself to us so we may draw closer to You.

I can see the Light

DSCN1382.JPG

John 8:12 English Standard Version (ESV)

I Am the Light of the World

12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

I wrote this last night in church:

Drowning in a sea of pain

Tears blinded me to Your Light

Yet You were so Faithful

You went in deep

And healed my wounded soul

You restored me and I see the Light again

Lord You gave me passion again,

Passion for You, Your Kingdom,

And for the wounded souls that need

Your Light and Love

Lord use me again

Fill me up with Your Great Light

For You Great Glory

In Jesus Name Amen

I let the Light in Jesus and I let His Truth in.

God brought me through a season of pain to this season of healing. It is amazing to see things clearly again.

I see things not clouded by pain which draws me inwardly (self-focused) but I see things more outwardly (others-focused). Jesus changed the focus on my heart to get me back into His Kingdom work.

Are you hurting today?

Do you need healing in any area?

Jesus can make you whole!

John 5:6-8 Living Bible (TLB)

When Jesus saw him and knew how long he had been ill, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?”

“I can’t,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to help me into the pool at the movement of the water. While I am trying to get there, someone else always gets in ahead of me.”

Jesus told him, “Stand up, roll up your sleeping mat and go on home!”

Christ sees into our hearts. Today you may be on a mat of suffering waiting for someone to help you get into the water. Jesus is the Light of the world and He is here today-no matter what we all go through every season take comfort in Christ.

Get up! Live again! Live in His Light! Ask Him to give you passion again! We can live life to the fullest for His Glory and there are people who need to hear about Jesus from You.

They are watching you in your greatest suffering to see if Jesus is real in you. Ask the Lord Jesus to help you-He will.

Lord Jesus,

I see that You are the Light of the World and as Your child I am to be filled with Your Light. Thank You for taking me through seasons of my life in where I had to make the decisions to follow You no matter what… these were pivotal points in my life. You are Faithful. I know that You have all Power and I trust Your Sovereign will. I choose by an act of faith to take up my mat and live again. I choose that my life will bring You Glory. I choose to engage in the community with Your Love and Your Gospel that others may come to know You and that they may go to Heaven with me. I choose to lay myself down at Your Feet. Lord Jesus I love You and I am Yours!

Prepared for the Storm

Mpre 2

Luke 12:56 Living Bible (TLB)

56 Hypocrites! You interpret the sky well enough, but you refuse to notice the warnings all around you about the crisis ahead.

Last night it stormed around 6 pm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was beautiful it cleaned everything. It wouldn’t have looked so beautiful if I had been caught in in. I would have been soaking wet. What if the lighting struck me? I knew ahead of time about the storm so I stayed home. I was in a place of safety.

We prepare for storms because, we care about our physical and financial well-being and our loved ones. If hurricanes come people place plywood on their windows or if it’s bad enough they evaluate.

Jesus is saying when He comes it will be sudden- you have better be prepared ahead of time. He is like the weather man spiritually announcing a warning:

Get ready! Be Prepared! Be Holy! Be anticipating My return! Prepare the Wedding Garments! Be in Love with Me as I Love you!

Luke 17:34 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)

34 That night there may be two people sleeping in one room. One will be taken and the other will be left.

What about the spiritual storms? Jesus wants us to be prepared! Jesus wants us to prepare ourselves with repentance. He wants us to be in our only truly safe place in Him! We need to run and seek Him as shelter from temptations and from people who lead us away from Christ.

Here is a good question to ask in dealing with people: Am I impacting them or are they impacting me? Yes we are to the light and witness but we do that in the Spirit’s power and we are prepared! Ask God for His Divine appointments.

Listen, the closer I get to God the narrower my road is becoming. Not narrow in Love but narrow in obeying and fulfilling Christ’s call. It’s less about me and more about Him and others who don’t know Him.

Please seclude yourself with Christ and then reach out to others with His Love and Power.

John 15:5 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)

“I am the vine, and you are the branches. If you stay joined to me, and I to you, you will produce plenty of fruit. But separated from me you won’t be able to do anything.

Stay joined to Him! Be ready for Him! He is coming back! There is no date setting only the FATHER KNOWS:

Matthew 24:36 New King James Version (NKJV)

No One Knows the Day or Hour

36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven,[a] but My Father only.

We can know the signs of the times:

Matthew 24:4-14 New King James Version (NKJV)

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all[a] these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[b] and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Be a prepared Bride. Be ready to withstand any storm that may come! But that oil it comes by faith in Jesus Christ. It is the Oil of the Holy Spirit. Religion can’t produce this oil- only a deep intimate relationship with Jesus Christ can. Father God loves us and wants us to come. Why wait come now! Draw closer to Him in repentance and in faith and in Deep Love!

Matthew 25:10 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)

10 “So the foolish girls went to buy oil. While they were gone, the bridegroom came. The girls who were ready went in with the bridegroom to the wedding feast. Then the door was closed and locked.

Prayer:

Precious Lord,

Nothing or no one ever compares to You!

Help me to wake up Lord from complacency.

Help me to prepare for these spiritual storms that tries to rob my faith.

This is having the form of godliness but no true repentance and no change (no relationship with You).

Lord, let it be that You break my heart for what breaks Yours.

Help me to be filled with the Oil of the Holy Spirit and help me Precious Lord to tell others to get ready and tell them the Good News of Your Great Salvation. Precious Lord I Love You!

2 Timothy 3:5-7 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)

They will go on pretending to be devoted to God, but they will refuse to let that “devotion” change the way they live. Stay away from these people!

Some of them go into homes and get control over weak women, whose lives are full of sin—women who are led into sin by all the things they want. These women always want to learn something new, but they are never able to fully understand the truth.
